Richardson Talks Affleck’s THE BATMAN

During a conversation on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Richardson lamented that he was unable to make a solo Batman movie with Ben Affleck, which was originally meant to follow the crime thriller Live By Night. Following the release of Zack Snyder's "Justice League", Ben Affleck was set to reprise the Bruce Wayne/Batman role in a standalone film he was tapped to write and direct. Affleck officially parted ways with the project and the character in January, which was followed by confirmation that Reeves was coming on board to retool the next Batman film.

"I wanted to shoot Batman with [Ben Affleck] cause that was the next film we had", Richardson said.

We don't know what Reeves has in store, but hopefully Affleck will go on the record some day to talk about his vision for what his solo Batman movie would have been and the obstacles in getting the script right. He was entering a little more into the Arkham [side of things], so he's going into where you keep everyone who's bad and everyone who's shifted. What element may be sane and what element may actually not be sane. Horowitz asked Richardson what the film was going to be like, and he shared quite a bit about the overall tone. On the HappySadConfused podcast [via The Playlist], Richardson revealed that Affleck's Batman movie would have taken place inside Arkham Asylum, the institution for the criminally insane that houses the superhero's rogues gallery when they're not out doing crimes.

Govinda reveals that he declined James Cameron's 'Avatar', gets trolled
On the professional front, Govinda was last seen in Rangeela Raja co-starring Mishika Chourasia and Anupama Agnihotri. But I told Cameron that it would easily take 7-8 years to complete the film, and that really frustrated him.

Batman Begins is the only Batman movie that used Arkham Asylum in a significant way. But since that movie took place only as Batman was just beginning his career the protector of Gotham City, we never really got to see what it was like when the rogues gallery of Batman's most unsafe villains was inside of it. "I was very, very interested in that one". "Of course, you know the studio's not gonna let that happen, but I did think just capturing that sense of flight would be [great]", he recounted.

Matt Reeves The Batman hits theaters on June 25, 2021.
