Sebastian Stan & Anthony Mackie Bring 'Falcon & the Winter Soldier' to D23 Expo

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the first Marvel Studios show coming exclusively to Disney+, and during today's D23 panel, we learned more about what we can expect when Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) reunite on the small screen.

Additionally, Lodge 49's Wyatt Russell has boarded the series as John Walker, who in comic book lore adopts the alter egos of U.S. Agent or Super-Patriot - whatever the case, he is often positioned as an adversary to Captain America, the mantle that Falcon aka Sam Wilson was invited to inherit at the end of Avengers: Endgame. "Just because he told me to hold his shield, he didn't say 'you're Captain America now, '" Mackie pointed out when talking to IGN on the Disney+ red carpet at Disney's D23 Expo.

"Captain America: Civil War" actors Emily VanCamp and Daniel Bruhl are also expected to join Mackie and Stan on the Disney+ series, reprising their roles as Sharon Carter, the niece of Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter and the villainous Zemo.

Vunipola was making his return after four months on the sidelines but his appearance in the second half lasted just 17 minutes. But it was very disappointing. "We've got to defend better and right across the board, we've got to improve significantly".

"This will be a much deeper dive on both of their pasts and both of their presents, post-Endgame, in a way that is cool", Marvel present Kevin Feige teased of the new cast additions (via EW).

Where has Sharon Carter been all this time? As a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, she might be up to something more than pining over her almost-flame, but VanCamp wouldn't reveal where her character has been. "I'm excited to know!" "He's like, 'I'm gonna go back and see my girl, call me if something happens".

With Kari Skogland directing all six episodes and Malcolm Spellman leading the writing side, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier will be on Disney+ in 2020.
