Eagles practice observations Offense struggles before Thursday’s preseason opener

Tennessee Titans' wide receiver Cody Hollister posted a solid effort during the Titans' preseason opening game Thursday night.

Sudfeld finished 10-for-18 for 177 yards and a 75-yard TD to Marken Michel with a 107.9 passer rating against the Titans, passing his first test until the dark turn. But he broke his left wrist on a hit late in the second quarter.

"I thought he was playing well", coach Doug Pederson said. He doesn't expect the injury to be season-ending, but no timetable for a return was provided. Sudfeld fell backward and planted both hands behind himself in the turf. He rode into the locker room on the cart with his left arm in an air cast.

If there's any consolation for Sudfeld, it's that the injury occurred on his non-throwing arm.

For obvious reasons, the outcome of this game would have been much different for Philadelphia if key starters such as Carson Wentz and Malcolm Jenkins actually suited up for the contest, but hopefully they only see a few series at most over these next few weeks.

Even though the Eagles took the loss, 27-10, the game will be one to remember for Tanguay, thanks to Miche's touchdown catch. The Eagles had the ultimate security blanket in Foles, who led them to a Super Bowl victory two seasons ago after Wentz got hurt.

It's unlikely the Eagles would want to keep four quarterbacks, and Kessler has actual National Football League starting experience.
