By any measure Levy’s stewardship of Spurs has been a resounding success- but all is not perfect

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino accepts that no one expected Christian Eriksen's future to still be unresolved going into the final week of the European transfer window.

The 27-year-old has one year left on his contract and according to reports isn't interested in signing a new deal with Tottenham. The 27-year-old, who is out of contract at Spurs next summer, has always been linked with a switch to the Bernabéu.

However, Spurs have yet to receive any firm offers for the midfielder.

Pochettino, the Spurs supervisor, acknowledges the persevering with uncertainty surrounding Eriksen's future is unsettling for each participant and membership.

Mauricio Pochettino has urged Tottenham fans to have patience with new signing Giovani Lo Celso as the midfielder continues to rebuild his fitness.

The impression Pochettino gave before Sunday's home game against Newcastle was that he was bracing himself for a bid for Eriksen before 2 September.

Eriksen is holding out for a move to a top European club, having reportedly turned down the chance to join Manchester United.

However, the English window being closed means that it is unlikely Eriksen will go, as Spurs can not sign a replacement until January.

"In this case, there is nothing more to say because there is one more year on his contract".

"I am only going to decide to try and provide the best players that are in my head to play", he said. You try to minimalism the problem, try to treat the situation. "We can't hide the problem, but we must reduce it", Mauricio Pochettino in a press conference about the Dane's hard situation in London. This is an important player who needs to help the team with his performances.

'Always I am open to help the club and to help the decision of Daniel. "The most important thing is to try to take the best decision for both sides". And for the player, too.

"He was in extended holidays after the Copa America, he didn't have a proper pre-season and didn't train too much, then signed for us after a week without training".

'It's not in a good place, ' said Pochettino, with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Juventus among the clubs tracking Eriksen.

And Pochettino insisted that Tottenham will not be just giving away Wanyama, despite the club being ready to offload him.
