Nintendo Switch Update Virtual Reality

Amnesia Collection is another huge boost to the Switch's horror library. Ring Fit Adventure will launch on October 18 for $79.99 (UK price TBA), including a copy of the game, a Ring-Con, and a Leg Strap.

The main Adventure mode for Ring Fit Adventure sets you on a journey to defeat Dragaux, a "giant, chiseled dragon with an ego to match his oversized muscles". Occasionally, players will be confronted by one or more enemies, and it's then that the Ring-Con becomes a way to deliver attacks.

Throughout the years, various companies have made attempts at turning exercise into games, with one of the most notable examples being Nintendo's Wii Fit.

NZ falling behind in cancer survival rates
On hard pancreatic cancer, survival in this country showed lowest improvement of all over the two decades, at -0.6 percent. And UK lung cancer survival rates are now 14.7 per cent - worse than those in Canada 20 years before.

While you're moving through the level, monsters will sometimes block your progress and kick off Fit Battles. Battles are fought not with magic, but with fitness moves like squats, and players will be able to adjust the resistance of the Ring-Con if they're too young/unfit for the default settings. This lets everyone enjoy a quick workout in different ways, like taking turns with friends and family in mini-games to compete for high scores. "Sets" provide linked sequences of different exercises designed around a theme or a particular body part. There's also a leg strap for the other Joy-Con (below, left), so that it can detect the movement of your leg. The game even includes a "Silent" mode for people who live in an upstairs apartment or don't want to make a lot of noise.

Nintendo's unusual new Switch experience has a name: Ring Fit Adventure. It seems like a fun way to get a little exercise in at home.
