Google Assistant Ambient Mode
Like the Yoga Smart Tab, the M8 has Dolby Atmos-tuned speakers and the ability to swap from Android Tablet Mode to Ambient Mode with Google Assistant. As the Display 7 has been created to be a hyper compact smart home hub, the device is also equipped with a far-field dual mic array, which allows commands to be issued to it from distance.
Lenovo announced two new smart tablets and a smart display at its Tech Life event at IFA 2019 in Berlin, Germany. Both the JBL Link View and LG ThinQ View failed to impress us as much as it did, and even Google's Home Nest Hub wasn't a proper replacement due to its lack of a camera for video calls. But these new and improved devices are potentially a great alternative to a standard voice assistant speaker or smart home display. The tablet will retail for $119.99 when it's released in October.
The accompanying dock means your tablet never runs out of charge and can be in "always-on" mode, plus you'll always know where it is. And as you can see, there is no more bamboo on the backside.
"Notably, compared to the 8" model from past year, the processor has changed from the 1.8GHz Qualcomm Home Hub Platform to the 1.5GHz MediaTek 8167S, Bluetooth has been upgraded to 5.0 instead of 4.2, but the camera resolution has been lowered from 5MP to 2MP. That's the case with the new Yoga Smart Tab and the Smart Tab M8 tablets.

This is the intended successor for the Yoga Tab 3 but with top-of-the-line audio, video and more. The bigger Yoga Smart Tab features its own built-in kickstand that lets you use in it various modes, including support for hanging it in the kitchen - the tablet gets its own dock if you need one.
Sporting a 10.1-inch Full HD IPS display and Google Assistant's Ambient Mode, the Yoga Smart Tab can be everything from a handheld screen for your favourite movies to a voice-controlled hub for your smart home.
Nearly all Android devices in the past two or so years now come with Google Assistant, at least those certified with Google Play Services.
