Onlookers will be able to catch a glimpse of a rare full moon on Friday the 13th.

According to the Farmer's Almanac, the moon will turn full at 12:33 a.m. on September 14 for those in the Eastern Time Zone. And that rare occurrence will happen on Friday.

Experts say the best time to see the moon is by looking to the east at the moonrise on Friday or by looking to the west at moonset early Saturday morning.

The Harvest Moon gets its name for being the closest full moon to the autumnal equinox.

However, the Harvest Moon is special in more ways than just being the closest full moon to fall.

So if you are in Toronto, you can expect to see the Harvest Moon rise at 7:46 PM on Friday, September 13, just 15 minutes after the sun sets at 7:31 PM. Plus it's going to be a Full Moon and not only that, it's going to be a Full Harvest Moon.

Kanye West's Sunday Service In Chicago: Stream Here
Kim recently teased that the rapper's new album would be called Jesus Is King and is to be released on September 27. For the unacquainted, West has been taking Sunday Service on the road in performances across the country.

While superstitiously known as an unlucky day, this Friday will be lucky for skywatchers who have been waiting for this month's Harvest Moon.

Unless cloud cover blocks the view, the full moon is the easiest celestial event to observe.

Adding to the rarity, this upcoming full moon almost coincides with apogee, the point in the moon's orbit which places it at its greatest distance from Earth at 252,100 miles away.

However, depending on where you live in Canada, the moon will reach it's the fullest point at different times throughout the night.

The upcoming "Harvest Moon" has also been referred to as a "micromoon" as it will appear around 14 percent smaller in the sky.

"The Moon was more than 30,000 miles closer and was accordingly branded a "Supermoon".
