An Illinois teenager wakes up every day thinking it's June 11, the day she suffered a traumatic brain injury that makes her memory restart itself every two hours.

Every two hours Riley Horner's memory resets.

Riley's mum Sarah Horner told WQAD doctors can't find anything medically wrong with her daughter.

June 11th is the day Riley was accidentally kicked in the head by a student "crowd surfing" during a dance at the FFA State Convention.

But Riley's family knew something was wrong when she suffered dozens of seizures and required countless follow-up hospital visits and now the teen struggles to remember what day it is.

"They can't see anything. You can't see a concussion on an MRI or CT Scan", said Sarah Horner, Riley Horner's mother.

"My brother passed away last week, and she probably has no idea", Sarah told WQAD 8.

Doctors have told the family that Riley may never fully recover, but Ms Horner said she wouldn't give up.

In order to keep up with daily happenings in her life, she writes detailed notes and documents things with her cellphone camera.

'I know it's hard for them as much as it's hard for me.

Akhtar took to Twitter to write: "So disappointed with the 10 Sri Lankan players who have pulled out of Pakistan tour". The Sri Lankan team would be touring Pakistan for three ODIs and as many Twenty20s in September and October.

She said Riley is forced to carry a notebook and pencil to school every day to help remember which locker is hers and what day it is. "People just don't understand".

"I'm not making memories and I'm just really scared", she said. "Like I will have no recollection of this come supper time".

Her family fears for her future after being warned it could be a lifelong problem.

"We need help", Sarah pleaded tearfully.

"[Doctors] told us she might just be like this forever". We have a few leads, but most are not local, so we are sifting through trying to find the best options.

"I'm very confused", Riley told ABC News.

Horner told WQAD that the first doctor dismissed Riley's condition as a concussion and sent her home on crutches. Horner said research has shown that at six months with short term memory, it can cause irreversible damage.

Before the incident, Riley was a bright student and active athlete.

"I am not okay with that", her mother said.

It's a time that should be the most memorable of her life.
