During an interview with Extra, Terrence Howard announced that he's retiring from acting after the final season of Empire, stating, "I'm done with acting".

Asked his plans after "Empire", he told "Extra": "I'm done with acting".

Howard, 50, did not share why he made a decision to quit and did not elaborate on what career he plans to pursue instead.

Howard has acted in dozens of films since 1995, and earned an Academy Award nomination for his role in "Hustle & Flow".

The 50-year-old actor has claimed he is planning to turn his back on his profession and focus on "truth" when the sixth and final season of "Empire" - on which he plays music mogul Lucious Lyon - comes to an end.

When Howard was pressed by Kryst to give details and if he'd go off into philanthropy, Howard came off cryptically.
