Wide receiver Josh Doctson showed up on the Vikings injury report on Wednesday because of a hamstring injury that limited him in practice.

The Vikings are back down to four receivers on the 53-man roster.

Roy axed as England seek redemption in final Ashes Test
England have been forced to rejig the balance of their side because of a shoulder injury to all-rounder Ben Stokes. Meanwhile, England has run out of patience with Jason Roy, replacing him with all-rounder Sam Curran.

On Thursday, Minnesota announced that they were placing Doctson on injured reserve. He is being placed on the IR with a designation for return, meaning that his season isn't now over, but he will miss the next several weeks, including a game against his former team in Week 8. However, the Vikings' newest receiver won't be making any sort of impact for the team anytime soon. With this decision, he won't be able to appear in a game for the Vikings until after Week 8 at the earliest. The native of San Bernardino, California, was waived during roster reductions and signed to the Vikings practice squad.

Doctson has been dealing with a leg injury since he signed. He was inactive against the Falcons and hasn't practiced with the Vikings.
