His family expressed their heartache over losing the iconic actor, describing him as a hard worker. "John used to say "I'm no big deal", but he was huge deal to us".

Adidas aiming for contract buyout of Wizards' Wall
It's hard to imagine Wall giving the company much of a discount, but how much money he gets depends on the terms of the deal. If he misses the entire season rehabbing his injury (which is expected), he'll be 30 when he returns to the court.

His on-screen son Ice Cube shared a picture of the pair in view of his 4.8 million followers, writing: "I'm devastated over the passing of John Witherspoon".

Witherspoon is survived by his wife Angela, and sons JD and Alexander. Most of us knew John Witherspoon as the face of the Friday franchise and the voice of Grandad in The Boondocks animated series, but he was much more than that in the culture. While he never achieved their level of mainstream success (I'll give you one guess why), Witherspoon's avuncular approach to comedy and his Samuel L. Jackson-esque ability to appear as if he's been the same age for decades resonated with Black audiences.

Soon after, TV son Marlon Wayans paid tribute to Witherspoon on Instagram, referring to his former co-star as a "mentor", a "friend" and "my second Pops". Reports had been suggesting that Witherspoon and Cube may be reuniting for a fourth and final Friday film, 25 years after both actor's Hollywood careers changed from the debut. "Life won't be as amusing without him", which seems to sum up just about what everybody else is saying about Witherspoon. "Rest In Paradise, King", said King on social media.

Our thoughts and condolences go out to Witherspoon's friends, family, and loved ones.
