Although others, including his wife Kim Kardashian-West and fellow-rapper Nicki Minaj have previously alluded to the star being "born-again", Kanye has now officially confirmed his conversion to the Christian faith.

The artist, who vowed not to make secular music any more, held his Sunday Service at George Washington University and played several songs from his upcoming album Jesus is King when he made a somewhat weird announcement. I am a recent convert. I am a recent covert. "It means I recently got saved within this year", he added. "We are here to spread the gospel", TMZ quoted him as saying while addressing the crowd who had gathered to listen to him.

Hundreds of "worshippers" flocked to the university at 8 am on Sunday after they learned that West was there and performing.

After missing its promised debut date of September 27, his latest album Jesus Is King will be dropping October 25., West revealed at the Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience event at George Washington University, according to Forbes.

On top of spreading the good word of Jesus Christ, Kanye - who has, in the past, called himself Yeezus - held a listening party for that new album, the aforementioned "Jesus Is King".
