The British number two was beaten 6-4 6-4 by Sweden's Rebecca Peterson at the Tianjin Open but has climbed 37 places to 88 in the rankings off the back of her performance.

Watson suffered another break in the ninth game when her backhand drive-volley landed long, allowing Peterson to seal the opener with a forehand down the line victor in the next game for a 6-4.

Having won the Jiangxi Open in Nanchang, Peterson overcame Watson 6-4 6-4 in a rain-delayed final.

Peterson upset Venus Williams in her opener than came from a set down to deny Yafan Wang in the quarters and Ons Jabeur in the semifinals.

Titans Bench Marcus Mariota, Will Start Ryan Tannehill
Moving him out of the lineup is a hard situation for the Titans players, who are expected to support Tannehill going forward. Although he had been relegated to a backup role, Tannehill never lost the conviction that he can be a successful quarterback.

She fell 3-1 behind in the decider before winning six of the last eight games to progress from a hard-fought encounter in two hours and six minutes. "I think I had some really tough matches, like yesterday, the day before, even in my first round". "[Jabeur] played well, I couldn't find my rhythm and I had to fight for every point so I'm happy that I got the win in the end".

It was the first time the Briton had lost WTA final, winning her previous three at Osaka in 2012, Hobart in 2015 and Monterrey in 2016.

Watson broke serve in the second game but was immediately pegged back by the world number 59, leaving the match effectively on serve after three games lasting nearly 22 minutes.
