6 deaths linked to flu in Arkansas, health department says

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, that's twice the number of people who had died at the same point in the season previous year.

The East County woman died on November 23 from influenza B and there was no indication she received a flu shot this season, according to the County Health and Human Services Agency.

Tarrant County Public Health did not report the date that the child died, or the child's sex or age.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting two more flu deaths in the state. That's more than double the number of cases confirmed by this time last year and almost double the three-year case average, according to county records.

Investigators were aware of Yakubets, 32, already in 2009, after they traced him from his online nickname "aqua". His customized Lamborghini has a personalized number plate that translates to "thief, according to the NCA".

In October, experts reported the first victim to die from the virus this season. "This death serves as a strong reminder of the importance of getting a flu shot".

Public health officials are notifying the public this week that flu vaccination is still available and, even if it does not prevent infection, is shown to reduce the severity of influenza infections.

New figures show the number of people hospitalised because of flu has tripled in a fortnight, with the virus is spreading before numerous most vulnerable have been protected.
