New Celtic signing Patryk Klimala promising goals and 'happiness'

Scottish champions Celtic announced the signing of Polish striker Patryk Klimala on Tuesday.

"I'm very happy to be here at such a massive club".

Speaking through an interpreter at Celtic Park, he said: "It is my biggest achievement so far and I am delighted to finally sign a contract with such a big team".

At 21, the player is by no means the finished article, but the club and more specifically Nicky Hammond would have done their homework to ensure that the front man has what is needed.

The Poland under-21 worldwide, who has scored seven goals in 17 games this season, has signed a four and a half year contract with the Scottish Premiership champions. "I'm looking forward to playing for a club with such a big history and I know Celtic are a huge club in Europe".

Australia's bushfire smoke will do a full lap of the earth

"There were big clubs from Italy and other countries interested in me, but I don't want to mention their names".

"I had the opportunity to see the stadium and feel the atmosphere". So, this is the best choice for me to make. I think I will do well here.

We feel that the club could maybe have handed Klimala a different number for the time being before giving him the number 11, and that is a popular opinion as proven by the reaction of these fans.

"I'm going to do my best to get the fans' support in every game".

However, with the William Hill Scottish Cup tie away to Partick Thistle on Saturday on the horizon, the 21-year-old said: "I don't expect to be in the first team after three days".
