2nd Case of New Coronavirus Confirmed Among Evacuees in San Diego

State laboratories have identified flaws in some of the test kits distributed by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in an effort to speed up coronavirus diagnosis nationwide, according to Reuters.

Hundreds of people, including U.S. State Department employees and their families, have arrived at military bases in California, Texas and Nebraska aboard chartered flights from Wuhan, a city of 11 million that is the epicenter for the virus. The individual voluntarily agreed to stay home in accordance with U.S. CDC guidelines.

The petition lists five demands described as "critical measures toward mitigating the potential risk of spreading the virus at the Miramar Center". That patient is one of 13 now known to be infected with the new coronavirus in the U.S.

Another case of the new coronavirus infection has been confirmed in a US evacuee from China, this one is in Texas.

Holland America Line says no known cases of the virus have been confirmed on the ship.

"Right now, the best thing ME people can do is to practice good hygiene, stay home if you feel sick, and share your recent travel history with medical providers if you experience fever, cough, or difficulty breathing".

The research, which has yet to be peer-reviewed, also suggested that patients can infect other people during the incubation period, echoing the findings of previous reports about the virus.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported that the woman and three others were discharged and on the way back to the base when it was discovered that three of four tests had not been processed yet.
