Dodgers, Twins agree on Maeda, Graterol deal

That's a proverb the Boston Red Sox took to heart while attempting to move 2018 AL MVP Mookie Betts.

The Dodgers will include $10 million in the trade and get the Twins' Compensation B (67th overall) pick in 2020 and a low level prospect, a major league source confirmed.

According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the trade that will send Betts to the L.A. Dodgers along with left-hander David Price is agreed upon.

A three-team deal that was agreed upon nearly a week ago hit a snag when the Red Sox balked at the medical report on Brusdar Graterol, a hard-throwing 21-year-old right-hander who has undergone Tommy John surgery. And the Sox received Verdugo - the originally agreed-upon anchor of the package in the original three-team deal who is viewed as a potential above-average everyday outfielder who had a strong rookie season in 2019 - as well as two additional prospects from the Dodgers.

As for their trade with the Twins, it centers around Kenta Maeda and Graterol, whom the Dodgers are now keeping.

At least 138 sent from U.S. to El Salvador were killed
The number of attacks is likely low also because of under-reporting in the country of 6.5 million people. Only about 18 percent of asylum seekers are actually offered asylum.

That's something that the Red Sox, who projected Graterol as a starter long term, did not want to do, and one of the biggest reasons why this deal has been put on hold.

The Red Sox and Dodgers have reached agreement on a blockbuster - again.

Boston will send cash to Los Angeles to cover roughly half of the $96 million remaining on Price's contract over the next three years, according to multiple reports.

It's fair to assume that the Red Sox are still going to receive outfielder Alex Verdugo from the Dodgers if and when Betts and Price are officially traded to the Dodgers, but that the Dodgers are now going to give more without Minnesota's help. Maeda, who turns 32 on April 11, was 10-8 with a 4.04 ERA last season and is 47-35 with a 3.87 ERA in his career with the Dodgers He would join All-Star righthanders Jose Berrios and Jake Odorizzi at the front of the Twins rotation.
