Govt ready to talk to Shaheen Bagh protesters Law Minister Prasad

In the clip recorded during a television interview, Prasad answers a question about why no representative of the BJP-led Centre visited Shaheen Bagh, where the women are holding a sit-in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) for more than 50 days now.

Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal took an aim at Home Minister Amit Shah over Thursday's shooting incident at Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University saying that his government is "far removed from peoples concerns" and the BJP "is not the nation".

The gunman has been nabbed by the Delhi police, persons familiar with the development said.

A witness said the man fired two-three times, standing right next to the police.

"Instead of "Make in India" focus is on "spreading hate in India", he said.

I called a time-out after I hit the shot, but the referee was not really willing to give me any kind of room for error at all. "The putter's been a little ice cold the last sort of two rounds, but I got it heated back up on the back nine".

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath alleged that those who support terrorists in Kashmir are staging protest at Shaheen Bagh and raising slogans of "azadi", news agency PTI reported on Saturday.

Anti-CAA protests have been going on in a part of the Shaheen Bagh area for over a month now. As the police took him away, a video of the incident shows him say: "In our country, only Hindus will prevail".

He claimed that the BJP leadership is "losing temper" because that party is set to lose the Assembly elections in Delhi, and so they want to "postpone elections".

Adiyanath, who is in Delhi to campaign for the BJP, also accused the Arvind Kejriwal government of "supplying biryani" to the Shaheen Bagh protesters. It is not clear whether the images are from the National Capital. It had garnered almost one lakh views by 9 pm on February 1.
