India U-19 captain Priyam Garg slams Bangladesh team’s reaction post victory

As soon as the match ended, it became tense with Bangladeshi players rushing to the ground and majority still displaying aggressive body language.

According to a press release by the ICC, Bangladesh's Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain and Rakibul Hasan, and India's Akash Singh and Ravi Bishnoi were involved in the altercation.

After Bangladesh won the final beating the Priyam Garg-led side by three wickets (via DLS) at the Senwes Park on Sunday, the players of the two teams were seen engaging in an exchange of words and even some pushing and shoving on the field, leaving a Bangladeshi flag damaged in the process.

Patel claimed that match referee Graeme Labrooy met him and expressed regret at what transpired on the field.

While all five players were held guilty of breaching Article 2.21 of the ICC's Code of Conduct, which deals with bringing the game into disrepute, Bishnoi was also found guilty of violating Article 2.5, which pertains to the use of "language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal".

India's Akash Singh accepted the charge of breaching Article 2.21 and has received a sanction of eight suspension points, which equates to six demerit points, which will remain on his record for two years.

All five players have been received suspensions of between four and 10 worldwide matches.

Towhid Hridoy received a sanction of ten suspension points which equates to six demerit points. Level 3 breaches carry a minimum penalty of four suspension points and a maximum penalty of 12 suspension points.

The suspension points will be applied to the forthcoming worldwide matches the players are most likely to participate in at either senior or Under-19 level.

All the above points will remain on the players' records for two years and apply to upcoming global matches - at the Under-19 or senior level - they are likely to participate in.
