Dev Patel in The Green Knight

A Dev Patel movie in which he stars as a knight. This take penned by Lowery frames Gawain as King Arthur's reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the Green Knight (Ralph Ineson), a big emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men.

Confronted by a giant, extremely intimidating and green-hued knight on New Year's Eve, Gawain agrees to play a game with the stranger: he gets to strike the knight's neck with a sword, and then, a year later, the knight gets to strike his neck with a sword right back. What / who is the Green Knight you ask? I don't even know what that means but consider my pickle tickled.

A24 previously teamed with Lowery on 2017's A Ghost Story, making this their second collaboration together.

Meanwhile Noon got his first break in the business playing alongside his twin brother Conner Noon in " Boardwalk Empire ". Production is set to begin in Vancouver in the next few weeks, with a premiere expected sometime later in 2020.

The Green Knight is directed by David Lowery (Ain't Them Bodies Saints, Pete's Dragon) and co-stars Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan and Alicia Vikander. The story was already adapted into film twice before by Stephen Weeks, the first of which starred Nigel Green (Jason and the Argonauts) as the Green Knight and the second of which starred Sean Connery (From Russia With Love) as the titular knight. For some reason, we keep thinking of the terrifying and emotionally-scarring Nome King from 1985's Return to Oz.

In more Dev Patel news, he and his magnificent hair also star in The Personal History of David Copperfield.

The Personal History of David Copperfield will hit Aussie cinemas Thursday, 26 March 2020.
