Coronavirus: British public in nationwide clap for NHS

Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge videoed their three children; Prince George, Louis and Princess Charlotte joining in to "Clap for our Carers" - a social media campaign where the nation thanked our incredible NHS service for all it has done - and is about to do - in the fight against coronavirus. Princess Charlotte was dressed in a striped long-sleeve tee and denim jeans, Prince Louis donned dapper, tiny knit sweater, and Prince George opted for a short sleeve polo shirt.

In an Instagram video shared by Kensington Palace's official account on Thursday, the three young royals - whose parents are Prince William and Kate Middleton - are seen clapping for the National Health Service (NHS) staff.

"To all the doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists, volunteers and other NHS staff working tirelessly to help those affected by #COVID19: thank you", read the post's caption followed by the hashtags, "#ClapForOurCarers #ClapForCarers #ThankYouNHS #ClapForNHS".

New weekly jobless claims soar to 3.3 million amid coronavirus outbreak
Layoffs are sure to accelerate as the USA economy sinks into what most economists expect to be deep and painful recession. Elsewhere, Connecticut's new weekly jobless claims were reported at 25,098 in the Labor Department's print Thursday.

One person commented: "That is lovely! Stay safe little ones!", while another added: "Thank you for showing your support!" "He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual", the Clarence House said to Fox News in a statement Wednesday morning. The campaign asked for people to "Join us for a big applause (from front doors, garden, balcony, windows, living room etc), to show all nurses; doctors; Global Positioning System and carers our appreciation for their ongoing hard work and fight against this virus".

Charles, who has tested positive for coronavirus, and Camilla are isolating from each other and their small number of staff.

And people did not disappoint, with social media being flooded with footage of people stepping outside their doors for the emotional moment to say thank you.
