A Gerrity's Supermarket in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania encountered one of the worst offenders on Wednesday, resulting in the precautionary disposal of tens of thousands of dollars worth of food.

Among people licking toilet seats and whatever they can find on Wal-Mart's store shelves, there is another women in Pennsylvania who made a decision to cough purposefully all over a small grocery store's produce, resulting in the grocery store to forfeit and throw out $35,000 worth of food.

Amid struggles to keep up with orders and supplying the basics, a small family-owned grocery store chain in Pennsylvania has yet another reason to be overwhelmed: a customer purposely coughing all over its produce, meat and bakery sections.

So stores like Gerrity's are taking extra measures to ensure their stores are safe.

Fasula, estimated the twisted prank cost the grocery store more than $35,000 in wasted food, an amount that will force the store to push up its rates next year.

He said employees acted as fast as possible to contact police and get the woman out of the store. The Feds recently announced it's considering terrorism charges for anyone purposely spreading COVID-19, although it's unclear if the woman is infected. It is unknown if the woman has the COVID-19 virus or not.

"While there is little doubt this woman was doing it as a very twisted prank, we will not take any chances with the health and well-being of our customers".

In a scandalous Facebook post, co-owner of the United States store Gerrity's, Joe Fasula, detailed exactly what had happened.

21-year-old woman with 'no underlying health conditions' dies of coronavirus
Health officials have not confirmed the death or its cause, the Guardian reported. She said the family had been "shattered beyond belief" by the death.

Fasula said the store was working closely with Hanover's local health inspector to identify every area the suspect was in. "We are checking to see if our insurance company will cover it", Fasula wrote.

Fasula said that the District Attorney's office is handling the case and will be "aggressively pursuing numerous charges".

Fasula doesn't think that she has the novel coronavirus, but he hopes authorities "make every effort to see that she is tested".

"I'm also absolutely sick to my stomach about the loss of food".

He said the "only silver lining to this travesty" is that the incident allowed the store to test its safety protocols. "I would also like to thank the people who will going in early tomorrow to get the departments restocked".

"One thing is for sure, we will have the cleanest display and freshest produce anywhere in northeast PA", Fasula wrote.

Other people who have purposefully coughed on or defiled merchandise in stores during the coronavirus pandemic are also facing charges.
