Manchester United, who could reportedly lose Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo before the season resumes, have now reportedly made a decision on his future.

Ighalo's current loan deal only runs until June but as it stands he would leave before the season is completed.

But with the coronavirus delay to the Premier League season United are trying to extend the deal further and will likely have to pay parent club Shanghai Shenhua to keep him until the campaign in England ends.

The Daily Mail says Ighalo's loan spell is due to end on May 31st so United would need to apply for an extension if they want the striker to be available when football eventually returns following the disruption caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.

After United's victory over Austrian club LASK earlier this month, in the Europa League, and with Ighalo scoring, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggested United might be interested in making the deal permanent.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that the club would love to keep the former Nigerian global at the Theatre of Dreams.

At launch, seasons 1 to 30 will be available, with season 31 coming to the service later in the year. But while some of that expansion has seen some hiccups , other regions are basically on track.

'He will improve and get better.

There's no doubting Ighalo has made an excellent impression on Manchester United since joining in the last moments of the January transfer window.

"He has qualities we saw in him that we needed".

With the Chinese Super League postponed as the country attempted to deal with the Covid-19 outbreak that originated in Wuhan, the 30-year-old was allowed to make a shock deadline-day move to Old Trafford in January.

Ighalo has now relieved pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the Red Devils had scoring problems since injuries Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial at some point.

Solskjaer hinted that United are considering signing Ighalo on a permanent deal as he has qualities that the team will need next season as well.
