More than 150 coronavirus patients died overnight in England, raising the country's death toll to 1,284.

Following Saturday's record rise, the drop in the rate of fresh fatalities may offer hope that the rise in deaths may level off soon.

The Department for Health said on Sunday, "As of 9am 29 March, a total of 127,737 have been tested, with 108,215 negative".

The latest figures come after Scottish Secretary Alister Jack revealed he had developed mild symptoms of coronavirus and was self-isolating.
