In apparent effort to help curb the spread of the coronavirus, Samsung has kicked off a new Galaxy Sanitizing Service across 19 countries. Users, however, simply cannot dunk their handsets in water or pour disinfectants on them because doing these can destroy or at least damage their devices. To keep your smartphone clean, Samsung Malaysia is offering free Galaxy Sanitising Service at its service centres nationwide. Now, scientifically speaking, the UV-C is a great killer of harmful microorganisms because of its shorter wavelength.

Samsung has done careful testing to make sure the UV-C light sanitization process they use at the Samsung Service Centers do not affect your phone's performance, so it's completely safe too. These devices can be used to sanitize Galaxy phones, the Galaxy Watch, and the Galaxy Buds. The company also cautions that results may vary and not all bacteria, germs and viruses might be eliminated. This UV-C wavelength of light is suitable for disinfection.
