"Operation Gridlock" protest underway at State Capitol

"Operation Gridlock" protest underway at State Capitol

"Right now we are all one team".

MI residents taking issue with their state's coronavirus lockdown measures are the latest to make their voices heard through protest with a demonstration in the state's capital planned for Wednesday.

"Well, I don't think she's listening to petitions and people who are trying to communicate in a less extreme way that.there are small businesses that are suffering", said Vanderwerff.

She emphasized that such a gathering isn't just a risk to the health of the participants, but also to others they might interact with later. "Our governor and her allies are infecting all of us with their radical progressive agenda", asserted the Michigan Conservative Coalition, which organized the protest. The order required large stores to shut down plant nurseries and rope off sections where carpet, flooring and paint were sold, provisions conservatives found both arbitrary and harmful to business owners.

Whitmer (D) said the protesters might have just made the situation worse in a state already dealing with more than 28,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus, the third-worst in the nation.

"I'm not saying that's what's going to happen, and I'm not predicting that a certain percentage of people get sick", Whitmer said.

On April 9, Gov. Whitmer extended the state's "Stay Home, Stay Safe" order through April 30. Whitmer said the stay-at-home restrictions are necessary to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

"Governor Whitmer believes that everyone has a right to protest and speak up", Whitmer's deputy press secretary Chelsea Lewis said of the Wednesday protests in a Monday statement to Insider.

"I'm not focusing on politics", she said.

Corona get Putin to postpone the big 75-year-parade
Trump said Wednesday the USA was ready to send ventilators to Russian Federation , saying "they're having a hard time in Moscow". Russian Federation has so far recorded 27,938 cases and 232 coronavirus-related deaths.

Protesters waved a number of American, Confederate and pro-Trump flags. We know that this rally endangered people. "We recognize that some people are angry and frustrated, and that's okay".

A petition to recall Whitmer in response to her "tyrannical" orders has already received nearly 250,000 signatures. In fact, MI is one of the epicenters for the virus in the US, and only NY and New Jersey have more deaths.

Not only were there protesters swarming the area and standing on cars at one point it was also captured that ambulance became stuck in the protest traffic. Police did not ticket anyone for violations of the governor's orders.

The actions of the protesters, the governor added, undoubtedly caused more social harm than good.

Four sheriffs in the northwestern Lower Peninsula called Whitmer's orders a "vague framework of emergency laws" that are frustrating citizens.

"Sadly, it was really a political protest-it was not necessarily about the policy", said the governor.

"If everyone keeps doing their part. we're going to get through this (and rebuild) our economy". Officials expect more deaths in MI the coming weeks. It also states that a person's choice to maintain human relationships and associate with other individuals under the First Amendment "must be secured against undue intrusion by the State".

Instead of limiting travel, MI should be concentrating on "reopening counties and getting people back to work". They have been very edgy.
