COVID-19 tests now available for all Georgians

Gov. Brian Kemp says the screening criteria for the coronavirus is expanding to include all Georgians regardless of symptoms

Gov. Brian Kemp says the screening criteria for the coronavirus is expanding to include all Georgians regardless of symptoms

He said the state has doubled its daily testing capacity and has now tested a total of 217,000 people. Out of twenty-three states with more than five million people, we are now 12th in per capita testing.

The Georgia Department of Public Health reached its goal of testing 100,000 individuals in 10 days, but the state is still behind on mass testing.

April 30, Kemp lifted the shelter-in-place order for most residents, but said it would remain in place for the elderly and "medically fragile" until June 12, according to Breitbart News.

Identifying positive cases quickly will allow health officials to implement contact tracing, a meticulous process that identifies the web of interactions that an infected person has with others.

"This is an important benchmark for Georgia as we work to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the state", said Toomey.

He said there are now 1,203 positive patients in hospitals.

How Healthcare Providers Can Reduce Insurance Claim Denials
And, it’s important to account for the time and effort spent by administrative staff handling these denied claims. They also have the potential to adversely affect patients’ opinions about the organization.

"The health and well-being of Georgians are my top priorities, and my decisions are based on data and advice from health officials".

Georgia Emergency Management Agency Director Homer Bryson said the federal government will deliver another 210,000 test swabs to the state throughout the month of May.

The governor also touted efforts by companies like CVS and Walmart to set up testing sites, as well as a screening app run by Augusta University to connect patients with doctors via online video feeds.

Georgia recorded its lowest number of hospitalized patients positive for the coronavirus since hospitals statewide started reporting the number, Gov Brian Kemp announced in a tweet.

DPH is also making COVID-19 testing available to *all* Georgians. We will win this fight together!
