Originally released in 2015 and previously never seen outside of screenings and exhibitions, Lynch has uploaded the new animated short - FIRE (POZAR) - to his YouTube channel. But it appears that tomorrow, the filmmaker is breaking up that stream of videos to post something that will attract more than just amateur meteorologists.

Earlier this week, film geekdom's cool uncle, David Lynch, announced on Twitter that he'd soon be dropping a brand-new short film by the name of FIRE (POZAR), via the David Lynch Theater YouTube page. "The whole point of our experiment was that I would say nothing about my intentions and [Polish-American composer] Marek [Zebrowski] would interpret the visuals in his own way", Lynch said at the time. Very much in keeping with Lynch's classical selections for Twin Peaks: The Return, the music scores an animated project that's decidedly for Lynch-heads only.

The 10-minute feature was written, directed and drawn by Lynch, with music written by Marek Zebrowski and performed by the Penderecki String Quartet.

States are taking different approaches on how and when to do so safely as a vaccine isn't expected before the end of the year. COVID-19 death toll stood at 89,564 out of almost 1.5 million cases, according to Johns Hopkins University's count .

Zebrowski added: "I thought it was a very melancholic film in a certain sense and also very poetic".

"Without trying to be too explicit", the composer added, "I tried to illustrate further what David was doing".

Since then, he's been posting a series titled Weather Report, which surprisingly contains exactly that - legendary David Lynch talking about the weather forecast.
