National Hurricane Center issues special tropical weather outlook for Atlantic

According to the NHS website, there is the potential for subtropical development this weekend, a couple hundred miles northeast of the Bahamas.

The Atlantic Hurricane season begins on June 1 and goes through to November 30.

The good news? Meteorologists say the system is not a threat to Florida.

While the Atlantic hurricane season doesn't officially begin for another three weeks, there is a possibility of a system developing this weekend off the southeastern USA that could produce risky rip currents. "Of those storms, seven to nine are forecast to become hurricanes, and two to four are predicted to strengthen into major hurricanes", the forecasters say.
