Paul McCartney Writes Touching Tribute to Little Richard

Tutti Frutti And Long Tall Sally Singer Little Richard Is Dead At 87

"With his exuberance, his creativity, and his refusal to be anything other than himself, Little Richard laid the foundation for generations of artists to follow".

Little Richard influenced legions of performers whose fame would eventually outstrip his own. However, it was hard to disguise such a talent with worldwide fame, and WGNS would receive regular reports of the rock'n roller being seen locally.

Beyond his music, his flamboyant, gender-bending style (originally meant to make him non-threatening to white men) would go on to be a foundation of the Rock aesthetic, inspiring musicians from Prince to Elton John, David Bowie, and beyond. As well, his music also helped shape whole genres, including funk and soul.

Little Richard's longtime guitarist and band mate Kelvin Holly posted about the singer's death on his Instagram, conveying his sadness over the news of Little Richard's death and calling him the king of rock and roll. As one of twelve children, Richard left home at the age of 13.

Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio charged with sexual assault
Alberto Del Rio also faced domestic abuse charges after an incident with WWE Superstar Paige on July 9th, 2017. According to News 4, Rodriguez Chucuan has been charged with Sexual Assault and his bond was set at $50,000.

"In his presence he was always the same Little Richard that I first heard and was awed by growing up and I always was the same little boy". On a professional level, Penniman landed his first record deal in 1951, signing with RCA. His first major breakout hit was "Tutti Frutti", a sexually-charged song that catapulted him to fame in the 1950s. Allegedly, the kitchen sounds of his work environment created the well remembered vocal line "wop bop a lup bop a wop bam boom". Instead, Little Richard often dressed flamboyantly, with little reverence for the gender divide.

At his peak in the late 1950s and early '60s, Richard shouted, moaned, screamed and trilled hits like Good Golly, Miss Molly and Lucille, all the while pounding the piano like a mad man and punctuating lyrics with an occasional shrill "whoooo!" "I will miss you Richard, God bless". He continued to tour and perform extensively into his later years.

Outside of music, Little Richard also dabbled in acting. I met him on 'Down and Out in Beverly Hills, ' in which he was hilarious. The 2000 eponymous biopic, Little Richard, starring actor/singer Leon in the lead role, chronicled the singer's early years and rise in music through the '50s and '60s. What's more, Little Richard's career and flamboyant costumes and make-up paved the way for future singers like Elton John and Prince, who died in 2016. In a 1984 interview on "Today", he told Bryant Gumbel his "joyful music" "brought the races together".

Those Little Richard sightings in Murfreesboro became more than rumors when WGNS reported a minor accident on South Church Street on August 25, 2014 when a vehicle driven by a Morrison, TN resident, pulled from a parking lot and crashed into the side of a passing Cadillac SUV.
