Seinfeld Cast Pay Tribute After Jerry Stiller Died, Aged 92

He was 92 and his son, actor Ben Stiller confirmed that Jerry passed away due to natural causes.

He then went on to play Carrie Heffernan's father, Arthur Spooner on King of Queens.

The Seinfeld star posted a photo on Twitter and Instagram of himself holding up a vinyl copy of a 1967 comedy album by Stiller and his wife Anne Meara who died in 2015.

Jason Alexander, who played George, Frank's son, posted a photo of the two of them saying that he absolutely loved him. In addition to Ben and Jerry, Ben's wife Christine Taylor played a Time magazine reporter; while Meara and Ben's sister Amy appeared in cameos.

"So sorry for your loss, Ben", wrote Ricky Gervais, with Hank Azaria adding: "He was a lovely man - always so kind to me". I love you and miss you. "What a giant. So grateful for him, and Anne, and you". He was perhaps the kindest man I ever had the honor to work beside. "Condolences Ben." "My heart goes out to [Ben Stiller] & his entire family on this very hard loss", tweeted Josh Gad. "Love you Dad", he said. Although Stiller appeared in only 30 of Seinfeld's 180 episodes from season 5 onward, he was ultimately as important to the cast as any of the principal performers. "It's going to be a sad Festivus this year".

The Austin Chronicle said: "A man has not fully lived, comedically speaking, until his eyes and ears have been blessed with the experience of octogenarian Jerry Stiller as Doc, the crustily libidinous father of Ben Stiller's 40-year-old non-virgin bachelor, Eddie Cantrow".

As a comedy team, they were a huge hit, regularly appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show and a slew of other U.S. variety shows.

Jerry and Anne would appear on numerous television variety programs before transitioning to a successful career doing commercials for radio. Anne was upset and Jerry took her out for coffee and they were together until her death.

In his later years, Jerry was also known for his work on sitcom King of Queens and in the films Zoolander with Ben and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, with Will Ferrell. H had noteworthy roles in films like John Water's Hairspray, Heavyweights, Highway To Hell, and Airport 1975.

Kevin James, who was Jerry's son-in-law on King of Queens, called him "one of the most kind, loving, and amusing people to ever grace this earth".

His last movie credit was playing Maury Ballstein in Zoolander 2 in 2016.
