Spotify Rolling Out Group Session Beta Access To Premium Users Globally

A new feature in Spotify's dedicated kids app lets parents exercise greater control over their children's listening habits.

Spotify today introduced a new feature called Group Session, which is created to allow two or more Premium users in the same location to share control over the music that's bring played. If you are member of a Group Sessions, what you play or skip is what plays or skips for them too, and vice versa. Guests can join the session by scanning the host's scannable code.

Tap the Now playing bar at the bottom of the screen. From here, a parent can also opt to select a track and block it by tapping the "block" icon next to the track in question. The company just announced Group Session, a new social feature within the audio streaming service's app. Each user that wants to join must navigate to the same section on their device and tap "Scan to Join".

Honor 9X Pro with in-house AppGallery launched in India
In this article, we are trying to see the major differences and similarities between the Honor 9X Pro and the Honor 9X. Other features of the device include Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

While it makes sense that Spotify would focus more immediately on parental controls catering to parents of the younger children, in time being able to go the other direction - perhaps a whitelisting option or the import of pre-approved playlists - would be appreciated by parents of older kids. They added that Group Session will evolve over time as it learns more from user feedback, and is expected to expand beyond this current limitation in the future. If the music's playing from your device, tap END SESSION to end the group session. It's not clear if it will end even if there's enough music in the playlist to keep it going for over an hour.

There doesn't seem to be a limit as to how many users can be added to a Group Session. You'll need to be a Premium Family member to download and use it, but there are no additional costs if you're already subscribed to that tier.

The subscription is priced at R99.99 per month and is available to purchase from the Spotify website.
