Rayane Tamer, an Australian reporter, tweeted footage of the crash: "Distressing footage of a auto slamming into #HijabHouse days before Eid in Greenacre NSW".

Police say the 51-year-old was taken to Liverpool hospital and underwent mandatory testing before being taken to Bankstown police station.

Most of the injured were women aged between 18 and 36. I'm grateful no one was killed'.

Hijab House said both customers and staff had been injured. The important thing is everyone is still alive'.

Video from the scene shows the vehicle revving at a set of traffic lights, before appearing to speed through a red light and lose control.

Emergency services confirmed they were treating a driver and eleven pedestrians at the scene in Sydney's western district.

The Subaru slammed into a auto, then ploughed at speed into a shop in Greenacre.

'The male driver and 11 pedestrians have been injured. "They are now being treated at the scene; however, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening", NSW police said in a statement. Police immediately set up a security cordon around the scene.

Greece could ban Britons when it reopens to worldwide tourists in July
Elsewhere, Italian airline Alitalia said yesterday it would increase its flights by 36 per cent next month. Greece is set to reopen its borders to global tourists as of July 1, but there is bad news for Britons.

At least two people inside the shop suffered broken bones.

There was no initial indication the crash was terrorism-related, according to NSW state police.

Assistant Commissioner Peter Thurtell on Tuesday said there doesn't appear to be any link between the driver of the SUV or the driver of the other auto.

Petrol station owner John Makhlouf described to the ABC moments when the auto drove through the intersection.

"I ran outside and saw the vehicle had gone through the shop", he said.

He said: "It's very lucky there was no one standing on the corner or crossing at the lights because they would have been hit".

Amer Kourouche, a real estate agent who works across the road from Hijab House, said he was inside when he heard the noise from the accident.
