"It was an awesome honour to know Hana Kimura", American pro wrestler Tessa Blanchard wrote.

"We are very sorry to report that our Hana Kimura has passed away", the wrestling organization tweeted Friday night.

Fans and fellow pro wrestlers paid tribute to the star on social media, remembering her as a fierce and talented athlete as well as a kind-hearted friend.

According to the sources, Kimura had posted a picture of herself and a cat with the message "I love you, please live a long and joyful life".

Kimura's death was confirmed by Stardom Wrestling on Saturday - an organisation she was a part of as a professional wrestler.

Thousands of fans of Japanese wrestler, Hana Kimura, who appeared in the latest series of Netflix's reality show Terrace House are in mourning after the news appeared that the star allegedly has committed suicide. She also wrestled for Stardom during that time, and officially left Wrestle-1 to join Stardom in 2019, where she was the leader of the Tokyo Cyber Squad faction. She made her debut at Wrestle-1 in 2016 and won her first title, the JWP Junior Championship, later the same year.

In one of her recent tweets, the professional wrestler said: "I love it". You are my little sister.

WrestleZone sends our deepest condolences to Kimura's family, friends and fans during this tragic time. "So much I want to say... my heart is broken". I hope this serves as a reminder that interactions on social media can have a serious effect on the mental health of anyone, no matter who they are.
