Arrest warrant issued for Trump: Iran's Judiciary official

The IRNA news agency quoted Tehran Prosecutor General Ali Alqasi-Mehr, who said that 36 individuals had been identified in connection with the assassination of Soleimani, who was killed at Baghdad's worldwide airport on 3 January.

The charges include "murder" and committing a "terrorist act" said the prosecutor who added that "President Donald Trump is at the top of the list, and his prosecution will be pursued even after his term is over".

This came after months of incidents raising tensions between the U.S. and Iran.

Recall that the USA military killed Soleimani in an air strike outside Baghdad worldwide airport.

He said Iran had asked Interpol to issue a "red notice" for President Trump and the other individuals the Islamic Republic accuses of taking part in the killing of Soleimani.

On January 3, Trump ordered airstrikes that martyred General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), in Baghdad's worldwide airport.

He was also quoted as saying Iran had requested a "red notice" be put out for Trump and the co-accused, the highest-level notice issued by Interpol.

Miffed by Soleimani's death, Iranian Revolutionary Guards vowed to attack Israel and other United States allies in revenge of USA action.

Interpol, based in Lyon, France, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The assassination came after months of incidents raising tensions between the two countries and ultimately saw Iran retaliate with a ballistic missile strike targeting American troops in Iraq.
