COVID-19 cases double in five days

Here is a summary of new cases and other COVID-19 stats reported Friday by health officials across Nebraska & Iowa.

Of these, six are "active" cases, meaning the individual is under quarantine or observation right now.

Black people in Monroe County are dying of COVID-19 at nearly three times the rate of white people, according to the health department's figures. Of these, 914 came back negative and 10 are pending results.

Cases peaked in early April at almost 2,000 daily new cases. They also have announced 17 new cases.

The meeting was initially scheduled to take place later this month, but the organization made a decision to bring it forward. Nigeria said it would also aim to reach full compliance.

The Pottawattamie County Public Health Department has reported 21 new cases and one death. Seven of the confirmed cases are listed as recovered.

The total cases in the county include 35 in residents under 20, 106 in residents in their 20s, 89 in residents in their 30s, 70 in residents in their 40s, 66 in residents in the 50s, 30 in their 60s, 34 in their 70s, and 35 over 80.

The number of people in hospitals for COVID-19 treatment in the county fell for the fifth straight day. Not all of these deaths necessarily occurred in the past 24 hours, as the health department constantly updates its data.

The Local Health Authority will begin to obtain as much information as possible to protect our community, according to HCEM. The 60115 ZIP code (including DeKalb) had 252 cases reported and 2,579 tests administered.
