The United boss has said that it looks like the 19-year-old attacking midfielder will not be at the club next month and beyond. I think all three have had a good development this season, but they can be so much better.

If Martial is still banging in goals for United in 2025, there will be a little part of him which always has Ighalo to thank, for adding a little more focus and sharpness to his centre-forward play.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that it was the right decision to let striker Romelu Lukaku depart the club in the past Summer transfer window. "We're too far away from where we need to be and want to be".

Pushed to clarify if Gomes was leaving, Solskjaer added: 'To be honest, I've not heard from them last night or this morning, so it seems like that they haven't managed to agree [a deal], so the answer is probably short and "yes"'.

"Of course, Marcus has been out for a while, but I think he's looked sharp", Manchester United's official website quoted Solskjaer as saying to reporters at his pre-match press conference, before Tuesday's Premier League clash at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The game at the Amex Stadium marks the start of what should be a kind run-in for United with five of their seven remaining games against teams in the bottom eight, but Solskjaer has warned his team against complacency with a place in the top four up for grabs. Is he going to constantly score a lot of goals?

United booked a spot against Matic's old team Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals and he's relishing the battles that lie ahead against his former employers at Wembley and beyond.

"Now the situation is different, the coach trusts me more".

But, at the same time, Man United will have to ensure that they are strong enough to fight off challenges from sides like Man City, Chelsea and possibly Spurs.

"It must be exciting for all the fans, who have been waiting for so long now to have football that matters on the TV. It's one of the advantages of having a big squad, having players ready to come in to change the game and come in to play in any position, so it's really good for us". "It's always special to play against them, my ex-club, and we are happy that we're playing against them at Wembley", said the 31-year-old.

"For us as a group, it was time to allow our forwards to feel that confidence and feel that demand of playing and being demanded to play every game".
