After positive test Perez, some good corona news in Formula 1

Hulkenberg abandoned plans for a GT auto test at the Nurburgring to fly to the United Kingdom on Thursday evening before going to Racing Point's factory for a seat fitting and to finalise contract talks.

Who will replace the Mexican racer for the British Grand Prix as he got tested positive for Coronavirus.

Perez had initially returned an inconclusive coronavirus test before a second test came back positive.

He will miss at least the two races at Silverstone this weekend and next.

Perez said: "I'm extremely sad, definitely one of the saddest days in my career". "I followed all the instructions from the FIA and my team".

"I've really been thrown into the cold water here", he said. After Hungary I took a private plane to Mexico to see my mum for two days because she had a big accident.

'Then I came back to Europe with all the same protocols in place.

"I just got it, I don't know from where".

"I'm extremely sad, it's definitely one of the saddest [moments] of my career, the preparation we put in to this weekend to be 100 per cent ready for it, I knew I had a great auto, the team had done a fantastic job".

Evers Orders Masks Statewide
Wisconsin has the 28th-highest deaths in the country, and the 35th highest per capita at almost 16 deaths per 100,000 people. The state's high court was controlled 5-2 by conservatives when it struck down the earlier order on a split 4-3 decision.

Racing Point's reverse drivers are Esteban Gutierrez and Stoffel Vandoorne, the test drivers on the books of engine suppliers Mercedes.

"Sergio is physically well and in good spirits, but he will continue to self-isolate under the guidelines of the relevant public health authorities, with safety the ultimate priority for the team and the sport", his Racing Point team said in a statement.

"In a bid to minimise disruption and ensure the best possible chance of building upon the team's strong start to the 2020 campaign, Nico's familiarity with the team will prove invaluable".

We know from last time out at the Hungaroring, though, that Racing Point have a super quick vehicle this season.

"They're working from the factory, they haven't come into the paddock, but my anticipation is they will be negative again and then we'll make a decision on whether they should come into the paddock".

"The last 24 hours have been a bit special, insane and wild", Hulkenberg explained.

He added his thanks to the Racing Point team for their part in his swift preparation for the unexpected call-up. "He's a buddy of mine, an old team-mate and I wish him a speedy recovery".

Hulkenberg admitted his body was already feeling the effects of the high g-forces of driving an F1 vehicle again, especially at Silverstone, one of the fastest tracks on the calendar.
