In a statement provided by a News Corp spokesman, Rupert and Lachlan said, Were grateful to James for his many years of service to the company.

The resignation will take effect immediately.

James Murdoch had already left his family's other company, 21st Century Fox, partly due to his disgust with Fox News, which falls under it. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

News Corp's brands include the Dow Jones - the parent company of the Wall Street Journal, Barron's and MarketWatch - as well as the New York Post, Storyful and Australian publications the Australian, the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Telegraph, among others.

And, during a stage interview at Vanity Fair's New Establishment Summit in October 2019, Murdoch replied "uh, no" when asked if he still watches the network that he once ran.
