Thai Rock's sister restaurant in Potts Point in Sydney's inner east was connected to two additional cases, taking the size of that cluster to seven, including a case linked to The Apollo restaurant, which is nearby.

"While no instances of COVID-19 have already been diagnosed with Perisher or Thredbo up to now, it is important that everyone who had been in this field get tested when they have even the most unusual of symptoms", the announcement read.

NSW Health said a confirmed case attended Frank's Pizza Bar restaurant in Camperdown on July 26 between 6pm to 8pm.

NSW chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant on Friday said authorities had found the COVID-19 link between the two Thai Rock restaurants at Wetherill Park and Potts Point, with the virus subsequently introduced to The Apollo.

Anyone who attended the club during Wednesday July 22 from 7pm to midnight; Thursday July 23 from midnight to 3am and 8.30pm to midnight; Friday July 24 from midnight to 3am, 11am to 3:30pm and 7pm to midnight; and Saturday July 25 from midnight to 3am; must isolate.

There are 19 cases associated with the Potts Point cluster. They remain in isolation.

Everlearn Preschool in Prestons, in Sydney's southwest, is closed for cleaning, and contact tracing is under way after a confirmed case of coronavirus was detected.

There has been a rush to cross the Queensland border ahead of a ban on Sydney residents this weekend as NSW Health authorities record six mystery coronavirus cases.

The rising number of cases in Sydney has prompted Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to ban all Greater Sydney residents from the state from Saturday. Victoria on Thursday morning reported 723 new cases and 13 deaths.
