Restrictions are similar to ones that have been in place recently, but larger venues will be able to have crowds of up to 100 patrons when social distancing measures are in place.

It comes as another person has died with the virus and there were 255 new cases.

It's among a number of specific restrictions announced for the capital today, due to the surge in coronavirus cases.

"Socialising can continue at indoor or outdoor public venues, but only with people from their own household or one other household, and in groups of no more than six."

Dubliners are also being "encouraged" to limit travel outside the county.

"For the next few weeks, we're asking people of Dublin city and county to take particular care".

"However, as the acting CMO has said, in Dublin we are now entering a critical phase".

Air quality advisory for OR extended through Thursday
Wildfire smoke lingering over much of B.C. has led Canada Post to cancel Kamloops delivery Monday (Sept. 14 ). The running coach at Rackets and Runners completed a 15-kilometre run on Saturday with about 15 other people.

It is being widely reported today that the so-called "wet pubs", those which don't serve food, will remain closed in the capital, while those in other counties will be allowed to open.

The entire country has been placed into level two restrictions, though Dublin has some extra layers.

Carlow and Kilkenny will be in level two of the government's new roadmap for living alongside COVID until the 4th of October.

The national incidence rate of Covid-19 is now 46.8, with Dublin's rate nearly double that at 89.1 per 100,000.

With no end in sight to the pandemic, strict limits on everyday life are set to last at least six months and the plan will set out five levels of restrictions.

Level two - where every county in the country is at now.

But it is understood that some in Government are pushing for this to be increased for stadiums like Croke Park or the Aviva.
