Amazon's Jeff Bezos tops Forbes richest list, coronavirus pandemic knocks Trump lower

The net worth of the world's richest person went up by Dollars 4.9 billion after Amazon stock edged up two per cent, Forbes reported. His net worth skyrocketed from $114 billion to $179 billion, according to Forbes.

Trump saw big dips in his NY real estate this year, according to Forbes. Trump World Tower, with a net value of $27 million, increased by $2 million over the a year ago, Forbes reported.

Trump's non-New York real estate declined by an estimated $124 million across five properties. His Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., increased by $10 million over the year. While his homes in Florida have weathered the pandemic - collectively, the net value of all three houses is up by about $4 million - his penthouse in NY took a beating, falling about $9 million since previous year.

There were discussions between the White House and Democrat leaders over a "skinny" stimulus bill , but those talks fell through. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat from NY , called the Republican proposal "emaciated" last week.

Forbes said that the aggregate wealth of the 400 list rose to a record $3.2 trillion. Charles Koch, CEO of Koch Industries, is number 15 on the list. Koch funds and supports libertarian organizations such as the Cato Institute and Republican candidates.

In announcing this year's list, Forbes Magazine profiled Vince McMahon as one of the ten most noteworthy billionaires who did not make the list.

George Soros, a hedge fund manager, is number 56 on the list. For the third year in a row, America's richest needed a net worth of $2.1 billion or higher to claim a spot on the 39th annual Forbes 400.

Forbes 400 also points to the cancellation of WWE events as contributing to McMahon's loss of net worth, further pointing out that it was mainly circumstances caused by the Coronavirus pandemic that caused McMahon to lose net worth.
