IKEA Now Making Affordable Gaming Furniture In Collaboration With ASUS ROG

IKEA first announced the news earlier this week, stating that it will be teaming up with the Taiwanese PC giant to produce a new line of "affordable" gaming chairs, tables and other accessories.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced a partnership with global home-furnishings giant IKEA that will see the development of a new and exclusive range of gaming-furniture solutions created to level up gaming experiences in the home and gaming lifestyle. The launch will then be rolled out to other regions from October 2021, so we're at least more than a year away from getting our hands on this new swag.

The company said it sees gaming as "cross-demographic", which seems to hint this new range of gaming furniture from the two companies would need to blend with the rest of your home. If there is one company that could pull off such a monumental feat, it would be IKEA.

The new products are being developed in the Ikea Product Development Centre in Shanghai.

CBS All Access rebranding to 'Paramount+' in early 2021
Paramount + joins a growing roster of streaming services with the "plus" moniker, including, of course, Disney + and Apple TV+. The company earlier this year had told investors a rebranded and expanded service would arrive sometime the summer.

Kris Huang, general manager of Asus gaming gear and accessory business unit, stated that with ROG's "strong understanding of the gaming community" and Ikea's know-how, together they will deliver products that "empower gamers to build the gaming space they have always imagined". The Ikea and ROG designers have had several workshops together with professional gamers and gaming fans in Shanghai to get a sense of their wants and needs. The two companies said they aim to develop a new range of affordable and ergonomic gaming furniture and accessories.

Asus ROG talks about IKEA helping it create "the ideal gaming space that is both comfortably functional and enables full immersion in games".

Speaking of gaming chairs, we've seen just what ASUS ROG could do with its very own Chariot RGB gaming chair, so we imagine IKEA will be using that as a blueprint of sorts.

Ikea and ROG are working together to create furniture that brings "the comfort of gaming experience to a higher level". "Gamers have always dreamed of the flawless gaming space that is both comfortably functional and enables full immersion in games", said ASUS Gaming Gear and Accessory Business Unit General Manager Kris Huang.
