Coaches across the Southeastern Conference are high on Kentucky this season.

On the first-team, Kentucky was represented by punter Max Duffy and offensive linemen Drake Jackson and Darrian Kinnard. Jackson, a center out of Woodford County High School, has started 33 consecutive games at center for the team.

Alabama had eight players named to the coaches' preseason All-SEC First Team and led the league with 11 selections overall. Defensive lineman Zachary Carter, kicker Evan McPherson and all-purpose player Kadarius Toney were placed on the third team. Duffy was the 2019 victor of the Ray Guy Award, given annually to the nation's best punter. Boyd is the first Arkansas running back to garner Preseason Coaches All-SEC recognition since Alex Collins was named to the second team in 2014.

Kinnard started all 13 games at right tackle for United Kingdom as a sophomore previous year, finishing with 32 knockdowns and committing only penalty in 706 snaps.
