"It was such a insane race", said Gasly.

"It wasn't meant to be today", said Hamilton after starting on pole, his 94th, and leading comfortably until a 10-second stop/go penalty for a safety vehicle infringement. "We go away from here with a lot of positives, because in the end today we scored some very important points for the constructors' championship".

Gasly, who became the first French driver to win a grand prix since the similarly unlikely triumph for Olivier Panis in a Ligier at Monaco 24 years ago, was reduced to tears when he crossed the line.

"I don't think I'm realising what's happening right now".

With the entire process of entering the pit lane, stopping for 10s, and then leaving costing Hamilton a massive 31.6s in total, the Englishman resumed his race at the back of the field - 18 seconds behind the next nearest auto. "I have no words".

"From the pitwall, you can't see these yellow crosses, and if the driver doesn't spot them, which I believe is absolutely the truth, the only way you can see that the pitlane was closed was on page four of the FIA communications system", Wolff said. "I can not believe what is happening right now".

"I think I'm ready but as I said, it's not up to me to make that call", Gasly said.

"Firstly, huge congratulations to Pierre, it's a huge result for him", Hamilton told Sky Sports.

Hamilton started the day with a 47-point lead over Verstappen - an advantage which remains the same, albeit with Bottas now second in the drivers' standings.

Hamilton was able to claw his way back to seventh place, picking up a bonus point for the fastest lap in the process.

Hamilton's penalty led to a fascinating finale which saw Pierre Gasly take the chequered flag as an unlikely victor.

For the sake of comparison, OnePlus Nord managed to score a single-core score of 613 and a multi-core score of 1850. However, as the market situation is changing, every successful brand will modify its business with the times.

The victory is the silver lining on what has been a turbulent year and a half for Gasly, sent back to Alpha Tauri after a series of poor performances for senior team Red Bull.

Behind him, Bottas struggled to depart and dropped to sixth on the opening lap as Sainz and Norris took second and third.

Sebastian Vettel retired with a brake failure on lap six before Leclerc's seismic shunt.

His left rear brake was ablaze seconds earlier.

With Kevin Magnussen's stricken Haas auto parked up in a risky position, and the Safety vehicle subsequently deployed, Hamilton missed two red crosses to inform him that the pit lane was closed.

Hamilton pitted immediately from the lead, but Sainz and the rest, bar Giovinazzi, stayed out - their teams obeying a signal that the pit lane was closed.

That quickly changed though when Kevin Magnussen retired from the race, parking his vehicle on the side of the track leading to a safety auto being deployed.

Hamilton led, but was aware he faced a possible penalty, before the safety vehicle came in on lap 23.

"It was such a insane race, and we capitalised on the red flag, our vehicle was fast and we had a really fast auto behind us".

After 25 minutes, the race restarted on lap 28, Hamilton again moving clear before pitting.

Hamilton reeled off fastest laps to climb into the top ten, lapping 1.5 seconds per lap quicker than anyone else, while gritty Gasly hung on.
