Montrezl Harrell NBA Sixth Man
Harrell scored 34 points off the bench twice, including a January 5 game against NY in which he and Williams became the first teammates in National Basketball Association history to each score 30 points as reserves in a regulation game.
While Harrell faced tough competition in back-to-back Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Dennis Schroder, the Clippers big man took home the award after coming up short last season.
The honor is Harrell's first and prevents Williams from winning the award a fourth time. "Like I said, a guy who was the carbon copy that could be presented as this could be his award, man".
Harrell was a finalist a year ago, finishing third.
"We definitely talked about it and she told me that this year was going to be my year", Harrell said.
"And it just hurts that, yes, it's a tremendous blessing that I was able to get this and be here, but it just hurts that I'm not able to take it home to her".

Alongside Williams and guard Patrick Beverley, Harrell arrived in Los Angeles as part of the 2017 trade that sent Chris Paul to Houston.
Harrell averaged career highs of 18.6 points and 7.1 rebounds in his fifth season for the Clippers.
For the third consecutive year, the Clippers have the league's top sixth man after Lou Williams won the award the previous two seasons. Harrell also played roughly nine minutes more per game than Zubac. Williams averaged 18.2 points and 5.6 assists off the Clippers bench this season. He later apologized and wrote on Twitter, "If gone get the story get it right all I ask, no one spoke with me to do anything I approach him and cleared the air from all the outside nonsense that was being said. I feel like more than a coach watching Trez do this; I feel like a proud father".
The award comes with Harrell set to hit unrestricted free agency after the season ends.
"Like I told my teammates in practice, man, this award is because of them", Harrell said. "They always have been there and had my back, and you can't do nothing but cherish things like that".
