Cynthia Nixon Calls JK Rowling's Anti-Trans Tweets 'Baffling'

In news that really isn't that surprising anymore, Harry Potter author J.K Rowling is evolving from transphobic tweets to a full-blown transphobic novel, apparently. The books seem to be about championing people who are different, so for her to select this one group of people who are obviously different and sort of deny their existence, it's just.it's really baffling. She had previously been called out for her depiction of a trans woman in the second Cormoran Strike novel, "The Silkworm". In their review, Jake Kerridge says the book's "moral seems to be: never trust a man in a dress".

She concluded, "I respect every trans person's right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them".

She added: "You can make all the arguments that you want... but the fact is, as a parent, as a human, you should listen to what people tell you about themselves".

In June, the "Harry Potter" scribe came under fire for mocking an article with a deadline mentioning "people who menstruate". Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I. "Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?" she wrote.

He was also cited for a seat belt violation in 2017 and paid a $25 fine, according to state records. Ravnsborg's office has said he immediately called 911 after the crash on a rural stretch of U.S.

On Twitter, many are critical of Troubled Blood and Rowling, calling it everything from a cynical way to profit off transphobia to an example of how Rowling has to write fictional versions of the trans women she fears, as they don't exist in the real world. I think in some ways - I don't know, I don't know what it's like.

Cynthia Nixon is speaking out about J.K. Rowling. It isn't hate to speak the truth.

#RIPJKRowling quickly started trending on social media after the review, with users expressing outrage at Rowling, claiming she is perpetrating the transphobic trope of the "trans serial killer" (seen most notably in "Silence Of The Lambs"). "When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he's a woman - and, as I've said, gender confirmation certificates may now be granted without any need for surgery or hormones - then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside". At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female.

When asked if she or Samuel felt any discomfort watching the movies following Rowling's tweets, Nixon looked back at Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe's response to Rowling's posts. "I do not believe it's hateful to say so". I stand alongside the courageous women and men, gay, straight and trans, who're standing up for freedom of speech and thought, and for the rights and safety of some of the most vulnerable in our society: young gay kids, fragile teenagers, and women who're reliant on and wish to retain their single sex spaces.
