While Liverpool are set to sell Hoever to Wolves for an initial £9m and a further £4.5m in add-ons, they are poised to complete the capture of Diogo Jota on a deal worth up to £45m.

According to reports from The Times, talks held between Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers are at an advanced stage.

Jota, who was left out of Wolves' first two matches of the season, is set to sign a five-year contract on Saturday.

Liverpool have just agreed a £25 million deal for Thiago Alcantara from German champions Bayern Munich, and Liverpool could send Ki-Jana Hoever to Wolves as part of any deal.

Jota was omitted from the Wolves squad in the Carabao Cup defeat to Stoke City on Thursday night, and now the Portuguese winger is heading towards joining the Anfield club in the next few days.

Liverpool teenager Hoever, who has appeared four times for Jurgen Klopp's side, can play right wing-back, right-back and centre-back - all positions which Wolves are looking to strengthen during this transfer window.

Jota has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool, so pending a successful medical, he should be announced as a Reds player over the weekend.
