"I've also come here to help the team to win, to play good football - entertaining football".

'We want to improve and we are trying to do everything to improve the squad to be better next season.

"I think the seriousness and determination to win trophies can lead to silverware".

James made just eight appearances in La Liga last season as Zinedine Zidane's men lifted the title and had less than a year left on his contract with the Santiago Bernabeu side.

The 27-year-old suffered a dip in form at the beginning of last season and was dropped from the England squad but retained his Everton place under new boss Carlo Ancelotti.

"I'm hopeful that I can perform at my highest level and give something back to the fans and to the Club, who have shown their faith in me, by putting in consistently good performances.

Production of the seventh part of the highly successful spy film series " Mission: Impossible " was delayed early this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

He was really excited to sign and I didn't spend time to convince him - he was already convinced".

However, it is time for a new chapter for James now as he is set for a third stint alongside Ancelotti.

But Ancelotti appears to have fixed that in one window, as a midfield axis of Allan and Doucoure surely has the potential to be a brilliant one. He's a problem-solver. When Brazil first called him up the coach there said "Allan? This kind of connection can be helpful to improve the results, the team and results of this club". Perhaps he does not offer a great deal on the ball but he has the dynamism to get around the field.

After a number of stellar performances for Colombia in the 2014 World Cup - in which he won the Golden Boot with six goals, including an extraordinary strike against Uruguay - James joined Madrid in a deal reportedly worth €90million. He was only 22 then, he's 29 now and it nearly feels like his career has been stalled ever since.

Carlo Ancelotti signed Rodriguez on loan while at Bayern Munich, and also managed him at Real when he was at the club.
