Upon arrival in NY, his nasal swab test was asymptomatic positive. "I want to wish everyone all the best for a great week at Winged Foot and thank all the staff at the USGA and PGA Tour in helping me navigate the situation".

Horsfield, 23, said in a statement he was "asymptomatic and feeling well".

Horsfield, who won twice during the European Tour's "U.K. Swing" to earn one of 10 spots in the U.S. Open, tested negative in a pre-arrival test taken last week. The Manchester, United Kingdom, native is now ranked No. 81 in the world. He played the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay in 2015 and at Oakmont in 2016 through U.S. qualifiers as an amateur, and he played previous year at Pebble Beach by qualifying through the sectional qualifier in England. He finished the season ranked No. 1.

And on Monday, 24-year-old Brit Sam Horsfield announced he'd also be out of the field at Winged Foot Golf Club after testing positive at the U.S. Open testing center.

They're just great kids. "I'm just going to throw them out there, and I swear to God Kourtney happened to be the last one". Kardashian concluded, "I hope that answered my sixth toe question, because I only have five toes on each foot".

Scheffler withdrew from the event on Sunday night after he tested positive.

An All-American at Texas, where he graduated in four years with a business degree, Scheffler has played so well as a rookie that he qualified for the Masters - rare for a rookie without winning - and a strong performance at East Lake last week in the Tour Championship enabled him to finish No. 5 in the final FedEx Cup standings.

With Sabbatini and Grace entering the field, former U.S. Amateur champion Doc Redman is the next alternate available should someone else need to withdraw. Oddly enough, Grace had to withdraw from the PGA Championship last month when he tested positive for the virus.

England's Sam Horsfield tees off during the Hero Open in Birmingham, England, on August 2, 2020.
